Bill C-31 Receives Royal Assent

On November 17, 2022, Bill C-31, the Cost-of-Living Relief Act, No. 2 (Targeted Support for Households), received Royal Assent and aimed to increase affordability for Canadians.

The two measures outlined in this bill include the Canada Dental Benefit and the Canada Housing Benefit.

Canada Dental Benefit

The Canada Dental Benefit will provide eligible parents with up to $650 per year to cover dental expenses for children under 12 years old. This benefit is available to families with no dental insurance and an adjusted family net income under $90,000.
